Sports and remedial massage in Bristol
Hands-on treatment for tight, sore or overworked muscles — whether you're training, working at a desk, or simply asking a lot of your body.
50 minutes · £55 · Friday afternoons · Long Ashton
Who it's for
You don't need to be an athlete
Training for something
Runners, rowers, cyclists, rugby and football players, gym-goers — anyone whose training is leaving them tight or sore.
After training or competition
After a race, a heavy block of training or a busy season, when tired, tight muscles could use some hands-on work.
Stiff from everyday life
Neck, shoulders and back that have had too many hours at a desk, behind the wheel or on your feet.
What happens in a session
50 minutes, one to one, focused on you.
A short chat first
What's bothering you, what you do, and a short health screening so I can check that treatment is appropriate and safe.
Hands-on treatment
Massage matched to what you need — from firmer sports massage to gentler work — combined with soft tissue techniques and stretching where appropriate.
Simple aftercare
A few practical things to do in the days afterwards, and an honest view on whether another session is worth it.

Young athletes
Massage for under-18s
I work with young athletes week in, week out, and the same care applies on the treatment couch. Under-18 sessions must be booked by a parent or guardian, who must stay for the whole session. A parent or guardian gives consent before the first session, and the young person is also involved in the conversation about their treatment: they can ask questions, decline treatment or ask to stop at any point.
How it works
- • A parent or guardian books and gives written consent before the first session
- • A parent or guardian must stay for the whole of every session
- • I explain what I'll treat, and why, to both of you before we start
- • The young person can decline treatment or ask to stop at any time
- • Enhanced DBS checked (including the children's barred list) and British Rowing safeguarding trained

Hi, I'm Mike
I'm a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist and strength and conditioning coach, and I've spent years coaching athletes, including as lead S&C coach at City of Bristol Rowing Club. That coaching background shapes how I treat: I want to understand what your body is being asked to do, not just where it hurts.
